Deputies Head of Ekaterinburg Evgeny Lipovich and Vladimir Kritsky had a controlling interest tour around the capital of the Urals to see the lighting system.
Before going to an evening tour along the streets, vice-mayors, accompanied by specialists from the committee of architecture and the city utilities went up to the topmost, 20th floor of the hotel «Hyatt» and from the bird's-eye-height watched the color lighted central part of the Ural capital.
As pointed out by Evgeny Lipovich, in 2008-2009 the city had a lot of work on the lighting of Ekaterinburg in the night time. The streets of Sverdlov, Karl Liebknekht, Malyshev, Moscovskaya, Cheluskintsev were filled up with additional elements of lighting. Along Lenin Prospect some new bearings with modern outdoor lighting lamps were mounted. Much work has been done in the street of Boris Eltsin, as well as on the embankment of the river Iset, where additional lights of standard lamp type were installed, and the buildings located along the coastline, are colored in accordance with the approved architectural and artistic projects. During the reconstruction of the square, separating the carriageways of Lenin Prospect, all its parts are equipped with original lighting lanterns, which are installed on the fence elements of that green zone.
Multicolored spotlights highlighted the individuality of many significant objects in Ekaterinburg, such as the Palace of Creative students (the former country estate of merchants Kharitonovy-Rastorguevy), The Theater for Young Spectators, the Temple-to-blood, the Atrium Palace Hotel and a number of other buildings. In addition, after the order of the Head of Ekaterinburg Arkady Chernetsky some effective measures were taken in the capital of the Urals to illuminate advertising structures, billboards and so on. Great multimedia screens located in the busiest places of the Ural capital look very impressive in the dark.
On the eve of the Day of Russia, which will be celebrated on the 12th of June, 2009, some extra holiday lighting, which includes light boxes, garlands and ornaments on lighting bearings, bridges, overpasses and other elements of street utilities, is to start working.
