The local government of the Ural capital managed to create the conditions for dynamic development of the city, to ensure that the city was attractive for business, said the deputy chairman of Ekaterinburg City Duma Yakov Spektor.
According to him, the major achievement in the development of power in recent years can be considered the fact of being no opposition between political and administrative structures. This allows concentrating all the efforts for the development of the city. «If you look from a new hotel Hyatt, a beautiful city can be seen. I believe there are not so many cities of the kind, even in Europe. That general plan for development of Ekaterinburg, which was enacted, as well as hundreds of programs that operate in the city, could make it possible to create that infrastructure, which allows to hold such international forums as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization»,- said Yakov Spektor.
As for those positive aspects that SCO and BRIC summit will bring, the Deputy Speaker considers them to be already visible. «Every host on guests coming wants his home to be more beautiful and attractive. Therefore, the city for the coming summit became cleaner, greener and more beautiful. Money for the renovation of facades was allocated from the Russian budget; and many houses became much more attractive and good looking. In addition, the city received two billion rubles for major repairs of accommodation. We got such amount of funds not in December 2009, but before the summit, which means some preference being given to Ekaterinburg»,- emphasized Yakov Spektor.
He also added that thanks to the potential accumulated in recent years, as well as the continued development, the city had become attractive to young people. They do not want to leave the city now as they want to live and work in the Ural capital. «And if young people want to stay in the city, it has a large and prosperous future»,- summed up Yakov Spektor.
