Evidences of stay of Anton Chekhov in the Middle Urals will be presented in Ekaterinburg

Unique evidences of stay in the Urals of Anton Chekhov classic of Russian and world literature will be presented at the exhibition «the Museum of Mr. Сhe (хов) - the familiar stranger» which will open in Ekaterinburg on January, 29th, in the day of the 150th anniversary of the writer.

Unusual name consisting of Latin and Cyrillic letters, organizers explain with «contradictions of the life of the author».

«Besides, name Che is associated with famous Latin American revolutionary, and up to certain extent Chekhov is a revolutionary in dramatic art»,- was explained in the Museum of writers of the Urals which is one of the organizers of the exhibition.

Chekhov's letter which he wrote in Ekaterinburg to familiar doctor Nicolay Obolonsky would be presented in the exposition. This artifact is given by the Russian state archive of the literature and arts (Moscow).

«Besides, visitors will see rare photos of the writer from archive from the State museum of literature (Moscow), and also rare editions of that time - the books which were published in 1893, magazines where Chekhov's early stories under pseudonym of Antosha Chehonte» were printed,- the museum informs. Besides, conditions of those years will be recreated, old waltzes will sound.

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov was born on January, 29th, 1860 in Taganrog. He spent in Ekaterinburg a few days in April, 1890 on the way to Sakhalin.
