Boris Yeltsin was awarded title «Freeman of Sverdlovsk oblast» posthumously

Boris Yeltsin the first President of Russia was awarded title «Freeman of Sverdlovsk oblast» posthumously. Today Naina Yeltsina the widow of the President received certificate and badge from Alexander Misharin the governor of Sverdlovsk oblast.

Presentation was held in the Ural Boris Yeltsin centre in presence of the closest to Yeltsin's family people who studied together with Boris Nikolaevich and Naina Iosifovna in Ural state technical university. Alumni of construction faculty of Ural state technical university have been reuniting for more than half a century. Their families are on friendly terms with each other. Now they gathered in Ekaterinburg to celebrate the 80th anniversary of native faculty.

Presenting regalia of Freeman of Sverdlovsk oblast to Naina Yeltsina, Alexander Misharin noted: the Ural dwellers are obligated to Boris Nikolaevich for everything he did for the region. Naina Yeltsina thanked fellow countrymen for memory of her spouse, that they remember and appreciate his heritage.
