Doctors invite the Ural dwellers to undergo vaccination against high pathogenic (swine) flu. As the assistant to the head doctors of department of consumer inspectorate of Russia in Sverdlovsk oblast Victor Romanenko informs, first of all physicians invite «groups of risk» (the categories of population which are potential subject to infection). They also don't refuse vaccination to other people.
According to Victor Romanenko, for today our hospitals have 300 thousand doses of vaccine while over 8 thousand Ural dwellers underwent vaccination.
Remained quantity of vaccine will be spent for people who will consult a doctor in the nearest future. It is necessary to notice that vaccination is free. It is contra-indicated to people with allergy to chicken albumen and chicken meat. According to regional department of consumer inspectorate of Russia there are very few such people in the Urals and as a rule they are consulted by doctors.
Vaccination is indicated to children of early age (from 6 months till 3 years), preschool children (children from 3 till 7 years), schoolchildren, students, workers of health and social services, state municipal educational institutions, people who are engaged in generating and distributing electricity, gas and water, workers of public utilities and transport, people who suffer from chronic somatic diseases, pregnant women who are in their 2nd -3rd trimesters. The immunity given by vaccination against high pathogenic flu will be valid for two-three years.
Depending on age-related characteristics for vaccination of different categories of citizens in hospitals there are 4 kinds of vaccines: «Monogrippol», «Monogrippol Plus», «Pandeflu» and «Influvir».
As earlier vaccination against high pathogenic flu will be carried out in our region, as it is more probable to avoid the second wave of the flu.
As Victor Romanenko noted, last years the second wave of upper respiratory tract infection and flu in the Middle Urals fell on February-March (it also happened to fall on the beginning of April). However thanks to that last year we managed to secure 1 million 400 thousand dwellers of Sverdlovsk oblast against usual seasonal flu, the probability of the second wave wasn't so great. Nevertheless, successful vaccination against high pathogenic flu will help to consolidate results.
